In-ground pools which can cost tens of thousands of dollars and could impact a home’s value are not for everyone. Luckily, there’s an alternative. An above-ground pool costs far less than an in-ground one, doesn’t require a permit
and it won’t impact the resale value of your home.
Here are some things to consider if you are thinking about getting an above- ground pool:
The two main types of above-ground pools are the ring pool and the frame pool. A ring pool is fairly inexpensive and easy to set up, however, they are smaller than other types of above-ground pools.
Frame pools are significatnlty larger and more expensive than a ring pool. Requiring professional installation, a frame pool can stay up year round if you choose. It is common for owners to integrate a frame pool into their yard by adding complementary decking and/or landscaping.
You will need chemicals and other equipment for most above-ground pools, including chlorine, a filter and an automatic pool cleaner. In addition, all homeowners with a pool must abide by local jurisdictions regarding appropriate fencing for safety purposes.
