Valuable information to share with buyers and sellers.
We’ve all been in one before — a room with bare, boring walls. Adorned walls are much more interesting than bare ones, especially when you are preparing your house for sale. Yet, it is important to choose tasteful pieces and to properly display your artwork so that it impresses buyers.
If your house is on the market, showcasing your artwork in an appealing way that does not distract buyers is a must. Here are some things to keep in mind:
-
You don’t have to spend a lot of money to adorn your walls. Many things can be suitable when done the right way, even a child’s drawings.
-
The art you choose should complement, but not overpower, the home’s architecture and noteworthy features, such a fireplace or entryway.
-
Choose the right size piece for the space where it will be hung. A large piece can typically stand alone, while smaller works make a larger impact when grouped.
-
When hanging artwork, a good guideline is to center the piece or grouping at eye level. For artwork hung above a couch, be sure it is high enough that people won’t bump their heads on it.
